Richmond County School Board members have had enough.
They're telling superintendent Dr. Charles Larke to either make a decision or they'll do it for him.
Board member Ken Echols tells News 12 the superintendent's contract negotiations have been going for more than five months now and it's getting ridiculous.
He says if Dr. Larke does not agree to retire, they're prepared to ask the school board's attorney to begin the termination process for him.
After a public hearing on his termination, it would take two-thirds of the board to remove him as the superintendent.
We're told at least five or six of the board members are prepared to do just that.
They're extremely unhappy with the way matters have been handled and tell us there's no academic justification to keep him around another nine months.
By that they're referring to the ten middle schools not meeting the AYP score standards.
Board members are in executive session right now to discuss Dr. Larke's contract. They may have a decision by 6 o'clock.
