The Augusta Seaboard System Federal Credit Union was robbed at 2:30 p.m.
Two men were involved in the robbery. One had a gun, and the other carried a bag for the money.
After the robbery, the men fled on foot to the parking lot of the Delta Life Insurance building, where they got into a "new-looking" small to midsized white car, possibly a Toyota or Nissan.
As this is a federal credit union, the FBI is working on the case alongside Richmond County deputies.
Investigators do know the amount of money stolen, but are not yet releasing that information. There is also no word yet on whether bank employees were able to slip a dye pack in with the money.
Seaboard System is located on the 3600 block of Wheeler Road, near Doctors Hospital.
