The storms that swept through Saturday may not have lasted very long, but it was enough to cause some extensive damage throughout Augusta.
One home was completely destroyed.
"The whole back wall is gone, a little deck there and a porch down below all that's crushed in," said a representative from Big Dog Tree Service, who came out to clean up the mess.
Worst of all, animals were buried under the rubble.
"She had a bunch of animals. Still about five cats missing, still a dog under the porch we hadn't got out," the representative said Sunday. Fortunately, that dog is now at the vet and doing just fine.
The house, however, was completely destroyed.
Big Dog Tree Service estimates a 225 to 300 foot tall tree fell right on top of the house during Saturday's storms.
It took a ten-man crew, six trucks, a mini-bulldozer and even a crane to get to the bottom of it.
And despite the damage, News 12's meteorologist Adam Clark says a microburst wasn't to blame.
Fortunately, the homeowner was out running errands during the storm, and no one else was home at the time.
