Augusta woman competes in Rock Star: Supernova

Wednesday night was a big night for one Augusta woman.

Dana Andrews waits tables at Logan's and sings in a local cover band, but it might all change with her debut on CBS's Rock Star: Supernova.

Plain and simple...she wants to be a rock star.

And Augusta's Dana Andrews has her chance.

"I can't really believe like they chose me," she says. "Out of 7 different countries...I'm like, you know, I must not be that bad!"

You could say that.

22-year-old data and 14 others made the cut out of 25,000 people to compete to be the lead singer in a band called Supernova.

It's made up of Motley Crue's Tommy Lee, Gilby Clark, formerly with Guns and Roses, and Jason Newsted, who was in Metallica.

And the test of who it'll be comes in the next 13 weeks on Rock Star: Supernova. The contestants move into a house and battle it out.

Trying to make it in the big time is a big change for Dana.

"I was born and raised in Augusta. This is all that I've ever known. I've never been North of the Mason Dixon line," she says.

You'll be able to see the challenges Dana encounters along with the rest of the gang.

In the end, for someone, the hard work will pay off.

"But even if they sent me home in the first week, this has been such an experience, such a great adventure that I'll take with me for the rest of my life," Dana says.
