Lee Muns says he's running for chairman of the Columbia County School Board.
Muns opted not to run for re-election in 2004, but says he's ready to take Columbia County schools to the next level.
Muns also said he's stepping down immediately as Columbia County Republican Party chair to run.
Current school board member Regina Buccafusco and Lawrence Hammond have also qualified to run for chair in the November election.
