Graniteville to receive $450K

Print

People in Graniteville will get another $450,000 for health and environmental concerns after last year's deadly train wreck.

The money will go toward health screenings for people impacted by the crash.

Officials have created a registry, and so far about 260 of 850 people registered have been screened.

The money comes from the Department of Health and Environmental Control's Environmental Emergency Fund, which comes from environmental fines rather than tax dollars.
