GA power bills rise; SC gas bills may follow suit

Georgia Power bills are going up by an average of $5 a month.

The Public Service Commission members voted unanimously to raise rates to offset rising fuel costs.

If you use about 1200 kilowatt-hours a month, your bill should go up by $5. If you use less, it'll go up less.

In South Carolina, natural gas bills could be going up in the fall too.

SCE&G is asking for a three percent hike in gas rates. That would mean about $7 more a month in the wintertime.

A decision should come in the fall.
