AUGUSTA, Ga. --- It was one of the most anticipated vice presidential debates ever.
"Yes that was the one that nailed it in the coffin," Kenneth Henderson said.
So last night helped you make your decision?
"Without a doubt," Henderson said.
So who won? Senator Joe Biden or Governor Sarah Palin?
"Biden. He came with more statistics. More facts basically, instead of 'darn right', and all that good stuff that Palin was saying," Jaalah Gordon said.
"Governor Palin really did extremely well. Better than, maybe I or a lot of people expected. And I'm glad to see her do well," Ralph Mcfarland said.
It was a chance to get to know the two vice presidential candidates a little better. Both speaking out about their plans for Iraq, health care, the bailout bill and the economy.
"He knew what he was talking about, he'd been doing it for years. And I think people need to look at that. When we're talking about who's going to step in as President as the United States. You know they could be one heart beat away from being the President and I think they need to consider that," Pamela Miller said.
Many say they liked how Palin spoke to the average person.
"I think both of them did good, however I think Governor Palin did an excellent job. She seemed to talk to the people," Judy Sutton said.
Some early voters tell us they already knew who the were going to vote for, but the vice presidential debate sealed the deal.
"I thought Sarah Palin did very well. I thought she did a good job of clarifying herself up, as far the previous accusations, but Joe Biden really hit home with the issues, and talked in a language that I could understand," George Robinson said.
A reminder, the deadline to register to vote in Georgia is Monday, October 6th. The deadline in South Carolina is tomorrow, October 4th.
