WAYNESBORO, Ga.---The Burke County sheriff's office is forwarding surveillance tapes to the GBI in hopes of enhancing the video from an incident at the high school Wednesday.

A plastic bottle filled with bathroom cleaner and aluminum foil resulted in a loud boom Wednesday morning.

Superintendent Linda Bailey told parents, "Investigators say the chemicals remained contained in the bottle, and there are no injuries or damage."

Sheriff Greg Coursey said officers questioned an 18-year-old and two 16-year-olds Wednesday, but no charges have been filed in the incident.

Extra deputies were on hand with metal detectors to search students and book bags as they entered school Thursday morning. Coursey said the deputies plan to return Friday.

Supt. Bailey also told parents, "Once the individuals who were responsible for the incident have been identified, appropriate action will be taken by school personnel and the Burke County Sheriff's Department. Please know that your child's safety and education are our priority."
