A new South Carolina law will keep sexual predators in prison longer.

Thursday, June 8, Governor Mark Sanford signed Jessie's Law.

The law is named after Jessica Marie Lunsford. She was the young girl murdered in Florida by registered sex offender John Couey.

Under the bill, sexual predators have to spend at least 25 years in prison.

The law also allows for the death penalty for some repeat sexual predators.
