3 hospitals file Certificate of Need for Columbia County hospital bid

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Three hospitals are finished with one step that brings each closer to the proposed Columbia County hospital.

Doctors Hospital's Certificate of Need application is in the hands of the Georgia Department of Community Health.

Georgia Regents Medical Center's Certificate of Need was received in Atlanta on June 12. University Hospital turned in its Certificate of Need on May 30.

Three hospitals have spent months putting together their Certificates of Need to prove they're the best choice for Columbia County.

Now, a 120-day review process begins.
