UPDATE: Charges issued for 3 arrested after police chase in Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- Three people have been arrested after a chase in Aiken.

An officer saw a four-door Chevrolet Malibu leaving the Pinecrest neighborhood near Hampton Avenue after hearing gunshots go off. The officer tried to stop the vehicle and initiated a chase after the vehicle would not stop. The chase ended at the intersection of Plunkett Avenue and Laurens Street when all three suspects were taken into custody.

Rashawan Vertez Carter, 23, is charged with trafficking crack cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a stolen pistol. He was also served with two outstanding bench warrants for not having a license.

Rodrequiz Kintrell Jackson, 21, is charged with trafficking crack cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a stolen pistol.

Kentrell Antonio Brown, 22, has been charged with trafficking crack cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a stolen pistol, failure to stop for blue lights and not having a driver's license.

Investigators say the suspects are believed to be linked to the shots that were fired.
