Domestic dispute in south Augusta lands 3 in hospital

Two men have been stabbed and another beaten with a baseball bat.

It happened at the 4000 block of Goshen Lake Drive South around 7 Friday morning, May 26.

The whole scene caused quite a commotion this morning in the Goshen Plantation development.

There was also a lot of confusion, with rumors flying in the area.

After talking to Richmond County deputies, we've learned it was all because of a domestic dispute.

Investigators tell us 38-year-old Peter Mitchum and his brother, 40-year-old John, were upset with their stepdad because he was arguing with their mom.

"A fight ensued," says Sgt. Calvin Chew. "During the fight, one of the brothers picked up a baseball bat and attacked the father, at which time the father also pulled out a knife and ended up stabbing."

All three were taken to MCG for minor injuries. Investigators say they'll most likely be charged with battery and aggravated assault.
