Car wreck trifecta

There was some trouble on the road Thursday night.

First, wild driving led to a big mess on Wrightsboro Road.

A driver knocked down two telephone poles while trying to elude patrol cars that were following him.

Deputies say they'd gotten calls about a drunk driver.

This all happened just before 8 o'clock.

The man, who is in his 30's, was taken to MCG with minor injuries.

Deputies say they found alcohol in the car. No one else was hurt in the accident.

There was another traffic tie-up Thursday night in Augusta.

A three-car accident created a snarl on Highland Avenue across from Daniel Field.

Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The scene was cleared within about 30 minutes.

And there was a nasty accident on a South Carolina highway that sent at least three people to the hospital.

Police say a logging truck hit a smaller truck.

The accident happened near Seneca in Oconee County.

The impact peeled back the roof of the small truck.

The victims were airlifted to a Greenville hospital. No word on their conditions.
