AIKEN, S.C. --- News 12 has more of the Dash Cam video from fired Aiken County Deputy Jeffrey Nation. In the video, he turns the camera around on suspect, 18-year-old Lorenzo Williams, Jr. while Nation takes him to jail.
Deputy Nation said Williams head-butted him and then Deputy Nation shoved Williams in the throat. It turns out, Williams never head-butted Nation. The whole thing was caught on tape.
Lorenzo's family says he's doing okay and they're glad Deputy Nation is off the road. New video shows how Deputy Nation treated Williams, all the way to the jail.
Deputy Nation, in the Dash Cam video, said, "There, now you're on camera again."
Lorenzo answered, "Hey, how you all doing?"
Deputy Nation said, "It's all on you, brother."
Deputy Nation turns the Dash Cam on Williams.
Lorenzo, on the Dash Cam, said, "You going to jail?"
Deputy Nation said, "Am I going to jail? I'm going to jail with you right now, dude."
Turns out, Lorenzo did go to jail, but two days later; Nation was the one behind bars and out of a job.
"I know the law. You don't," Nation said on the Dash Cam.
Again, the tables turn. Nation stopped Lorenzo for what he calls, thug activity, or in this case, walking the streets with baggy pants, hanging too low.
The Sheriff's Office says there is no law in the county that says baggy pants are illegal.
"I don't know why the deputy decided to stop him, except he had baggy pants. That's not against the law," says Sheriff Michael Hunt.
Nation seems to know this incident (hitting in the throat) might need an explanation.
"I'm going to ask you to go ahead and do a one-page," says Nation. "Yes, because it's going to become an issue."
As the ride continues, so does the taunting.
"You sure didn't look like you could handle your own when I took you down on the ground," says Nation.
"Don't be talking about the Presidential Election because you don't know jack about it dude," adds Nation. "You need to get a life dude. You need to get a real job."
"The bottom line is, he's wrong," says Sheriff Hunt.
People in New Ellenton say this is a problem; cops going after kids just walking the streets for no reason.
"When you see them coming, something is going to be wrong, even if it's just walking the streets wrong," says D.D.
"We're not going to satisfy everybody in every neighborhood," says Sheriff Hunt.
"They have to go home at night with it on their conscience; I don't," adds D.D.
All the charges against Lorenzo were dropped.
Nation is out of jail on bond, but he is charged with Assault and Battery, along with Misconduct in Office.
