Interstate 20 became a parking lot Friday morning, just as people were trying to start their day.
An overturned truck is to blame.
An 18-wheeler overturned at 5:30 a.m. in the construction zone near the Davis Road overpass. Eastbound traffic was completely blocked.
The concrete barrier between the lanes was removed so all traffic could move through on the westbound side while the accident was cleared.
The truck's axle was bent too badly to drive, so a tractor was brought in to move it.
The road was reopened at 10:25. Things are flowing smoothly now...but for quite some time, the westbound lane was basically a parking lot, backed up into South Carolina.
