Three people are in custody after a two-state car chase.
It started after a shoplifting incident at the Augusta Mall.
Richmond County deputies chased a stolen car on Interstate 20.
The car eventually hit the guardrail near Exit 5 in South Carolina. Two young women and one man got out of the car and tried to run before they were caught and handcuffed.
A number of stolen items were found, including an undisclosed amount of crack cocaine.
