Friday, May 5, an annual Prayer and Praise Rally packed the Bell Auditorium.

The ceremony, in its fifth year, possibly drew its largest crowd to date.

It was a service thousands of souls strong, church families uniting as one to offer worldwide prayer.

Under one roof and on top of hundreds of seats, Christians united on this fifth day of the fifth month for their fifth time.

And this was no silent prayer.

Church members were on their feet, their hands in the air.

As Mayor Deke Copenhaver took the mic, he reminded Augustans of the need for spirituality in a world with political agendas.

"It is an honor and pleasure tonight to bring y'all greetings on behalf of the city," Copenhaver said.

A city these families and friends continue to pray for.

Whole Life Ministries is behind this annual event, but all churches are welcome.

Throughout the service, several prayer topics popped up on two large screens, including terrorism and hurricanes.
