AUGUSTA, Ga. --- When Gustav strikes, people will needs all sorts of things things like water, money and food.

The Augusta chapter of the Red Cross has already been alerted and are on stand-by to leave at the drop of a hat.

Some Augusta Red Cross volunteers just returned from assisting with Tropical Storm Fay, but there's no downtime for this organization; they're already geared up and ready to head out again.

Volunteers like Allen Morris checks his equipment and checks his supplies and makes sure everything is in place so when the call does comes in, possibly within the next 24-48 hours, he can head south and help.

Wayne Wylie, Director of Emergency Services for Red Cross says that they are on standby and prepared for all scenerios.

Gustav is expected to affect Mississippi, Alabama,Louisiana and Texas but that could all change depending on where it lands.

The Red Cross is flexible to go whereever needed.
