A new tuition plan takes effect this fall at Georgia public colleges and universities.
Tuition won't go up throughout the four years new students spend in undergraduate programs; the idea is to help people plan for what they have to spend and urge students to graduate in four years.
However, there will be a tuition hike for students already in school. It ranges from three percent at two-year schools, four percent at four-year schools like Augusta State, and five percent at the University of Georgia and MCG.
