UPDATED: The lane closure dates have changed to every weekday from Monday, April 24, 2006 and continue every weekday until Wednesday, May 3, 2006. The story below has been updated.
COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA---Columbia County, in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Transportation and Reeves Construction, wishes to inform the driving public of some temporary lane closures on Hereford Farm Road.
The temporary lane closures will be all along the length of Hereford Farm Road, from State Route 232 (Columbia Road) to State Route 383 (North Belair Road). The temporary lane closures will reduce sections of the roadway to one lane traffic. Pilot cars and flaggers will be used in and at the temporary lane closures.
These lane closures will begin on Monday, April 24, 2006 and continue every weekday until Wednesday, May 3, 2006. The lane closures and construction will begin each morning at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day until 6:00 p.m. each evening.
The temporary lane closures are for the leveling and resurfacing of Hereford Farm Road, from beginning to end. Please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting on these days.
Delays may be frequent and lengthy in duration. Therefore, drivers may want to consider using Washington Road, Columbia Road, William Few Parkway and Belair Road as alternate routes for thru traffic.
