Monday, City Administrator Fred Russell and commissioners finalized the amount the city will contribute to the James Brown Soul of America Music Festival: $35,000.
That includes rent for the Jessye Norman Amphitheatre and the Augusta Common, as well as security.
Russell says he is awaiting a final schedule of events from festival organizer Charles "Champ" Walker, Jr.
He has given Walker until Thursday to get that information to him.
The festival Web site says tickets will go on sale next week, and they will cost $50 for the May 25 weekend.
