Suspicious package causes delays at Augusta Regional

Augusta Regional Airport was closed for two and a half hours Monday morning when a suspicious package was discovered.

The bomb squad was dispatched to the airport at 8:07 a.m.

The package was a black box with a padlock on it. It was found to be an ordinary package.

A man was reportedly not allowed to take the package on the plane, so he left it behind outside the airport and then took his flight to Charlotte. He is currently being questioned.

Masters visitors trying to leave town had to wait to be allowed back into the airport. Richard Guerrieri of Bristol, Connecticut was one of many stuck outside. He stayed upbeat, saying that being able to see the Masters was worth the inconvenience.
