Three Augusta natives are competing in the 2006 Masters tournament: Charles Howell III, Vaughn Taylor, and Larry Mize.
Friday Howell started at 8 over...not so good.
But both Vaughn Taylor and Larry Mize started at 3 over...not too bad.
There are many fans that want to see a hometown favorite win.
"I watched down in Reno and Vaughn Taylor won at Reno. And Charles Howell, although I don't know him personally, but he is truly outstanding young man and I would be thrilled to see him win," said Tom Salter of Lake Tahoe, California.
Charles Howell III is really going to have to step up his game in order to stay alive before the cuts.
Starting at 8 over is Howell's highest score ever at the Masters.
Larry Mize is the only Augustan to win the Masters tournament.
He won in a miracle chip in back in 1987.
