Pilot ejects as fighter jet crashes into Atlantic 35 miles off Myrtle Beach

A pilot is in stable condition after his F-16 fighter jet crashed in the Atlantic Ocean about 35 miles off Myrtle Beach.

The crash happened Wednesday.

The pilot ejected and parachuted safely into the water.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment and appears to be in stable condition.

The Air Force says the jet was on a training mission from Shaw Air Force Base when it went down.

The crash will be investigated by a board of officers.
