Georgia congressman Cynthia McKinney is telling some of her side of what happened at the US Capitol last week.
She had a run-in with a police officer who didn't recognize her, perhaps because of her new hair style, and witnesses say she hit him.
McKinney says the officer stopped her and touched her.
"I want to tell my constituents they can rest assured I am doing the work they sent me to Washington to do. Nothing will keep me away from what I was elected to do," McKinney said.
The capitol police have finished their investigation and forwarded it to the US Attorney.
That office will decide if charges should be filed against the six-term congresswoman.
