Threat of rain not enough to keep Masters fans away

The gates are open, the course is ready and Augusta's biggest week is officially underway.

The eyes of golf fans all over the world will be glued to Augusta this week. As always, News 12 is your home for Masters coverage.

The crowds were in force at Augusta National Golf Club Monday morning.

Nothing could keep Masters fans away, not even the cloudy skies.

Gates opened at 8 o'clock, and as you can expect thousands of patrons filed into the Augusta National for the 70th Masters Tournament.

There are patrons here for the very first time, and of course there are the old faithfuls that keep coming back year after year.

The first day is a chance for patrons to catch a glimpse of the golfers and even take pictures. We'll catch up with some of them later Monday.
