Out with tomatoes and in with jalapenos. The spicy pepper is the FDA's new salmonella suspect.

The government agency says all types of tomatoes are safe to eat. This after weeks of people being told to avoid red round, red roma and red plum tomatoes.

Now investigators are taking a look at both jalapeno and Serrano peppers. They are the latest suspect in this big salmonella scare that has seen more than 12 hundred people come down with the disease.

They say you should avoid both types of peppers when they are in a raw form.

The FDA says it is working the Center for Disease Control to try and get to the bottom of this outbreak.

In the meantime, enjoy your tomatoes again.
