A man has been taken to the hospital after being rescued from a burning house on Wrightsboro Road.
Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire. Right now, we're told the fire started somewhere near the kitchen area.
45-year-old Jeffery Butler was taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation. A fire captain helped save his life by giving up his own oxygen mask.
"The first company that went in found the patient lying in the doorway. The captain on that crew took his air mask off and put it on the patient," says Capt. Whishant of the Richmond County Fire Department.
There were two other people in the house, a mother and a daughter. Both escaped unharmed.
The house is still standing; there was only moderate fire damage.
