Lexington looks to stop subsidized school lunch abuse by limiting students who don't qualify to crackers, juice

Some students in South Carolina's Lexington School District 1 could only receive crackers and a juice for lunch next school year.

That's what may happen if parents fail to pay school lunch debts.

The federal government subsidizes the cost of lunch for students of low-income households. Districts wonder how to deal with those whose parents don't qualify and still refuse to pay.
