Residents along Damascus Road and Walden Drive, near ASU off of Wrightsboro Road, have recently filed more than thirty reports with the sheriff's office.
Crime Team 12's Kate Tillotson is on your side with why some say they've had enough.
It's highly traveled and lots of families live on Walden Drive, but resident Monique Grinnage rarely leaves her home.
"I mean most times if I'm not going out nowhere then I stay at home and mind my business or whatever," Grinnage says.
Grinnage is one of hundreds of tenants renting apartment units here. According to police, it's in these units they're finding drugs and stolen property.
A man we'll call "Ted" says he sees what goes on.
"They walk up and down here just smoking marijuana, wide open, and selling crack cocaine and stuff. I mean, it's just pretty visible what's going on here," says "Ted".
It's also spelled out in police reports.
Since December, nearly twenty calls were answered at Singleton Apartments. This, despite an active neighborhood watch.
"For the amount of activity I see here, it's pretty, pretty, pretty normal," says Maj. Richard Weaver of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
But "Ted" - who claims he's been offered drugs - says the norm is a disease, spreading specifically through these back alleys.
"All it is is a destruction of the whole community," "Ted" says. "Narcotics should be aware of it a little more."
While the area is patrolled 24-7, Maj. Weaver admits it's not easy...especially with nearby nightclubs and constant traffic.
"Because of the class of people in there we tend to have more problems with certain areas," Maj. Weaver says.
But "Ted" says it's high time this one, gets cleaned up.
"We've got kids around. And that's what I'm talking about you know?"
