A frightening accident in Aiken County as a car plows into a home. Investigators say the driver had been drinking.
Earlier this week, a man police say was driving under the influence struck and killed a man in Augusta.
On Saturday night, there was another accident with the same reported cause in North Augusta.
The accident leaves one North Augusta man looking for a place to sleep and another in jail.
It all happened when the driver of a green Dodge van made a left turn onto Dogwood Street in North Augusta, drove up a hill and crashed into the home of Thomas Butler, who at the time was preparing dinner.
"It was like an explosion, like a bomb went off. Then the next thing I knew, fire trucks and everybody else gathered around my house and somebody was parked in my spare bedroom," says Butler.
The house was not the first thing the driver hit Saturday. Before he got there, he hit a car in another trailer park on Sunfest Drive.
The driver of the van was arrested and will be charged with driving under the influence.
Fortunately no one was injured in either collision.
