Aerobics might be popular, but weight training is more effective to burn those unwanted pounds away.

A new study on women shows that a two-year weight-training program can help you lose four percent body fat.

Unlike other workouts, weight-training allows your body to burn calories even after the workout is over.

According to fitness trainer Angela Corcoran, “As you get stronger, the muscle needs more calories at rest. It becomes like a hungrier part of your body."

Remember to always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise plan.
