JOHNSTON, S.C. (WRDW) -- Johnston police are investigating a shooting that put a 22-year-old man in the hospital Tuesday night.

Johnston Police Chief Chris Aston said officers responded to a home on Johnson Street around 10:30 p.m. He said the man was shot twice while in bed, and was airlifted to GRU Medical Center.

Authorities believe the victim was home alone at the time. Officers have not found signs of forced entry at the home yet. Edgefield County forensics is helping with the investigation.
