AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A 22-year-old Grovetown man is dead after an accident on Gordon Highway Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 2 p.m. when deputies says the driver of a 1993 Subaru tried to take a left onto Neiman Town Road and ended up turning into the path of a Jeep Liberty.
The passenger in the Subaru, Shem F. Rider, was pronounced dead at GHS Medical Center around 2:55 p.m.
Rider was being driven by 20-year-old Samantha Presley.
The driver of the Jeep Liberty, Edgar Sheely of Warrenton, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Presley is was in serious condition but is said to be in good condition, as of Monday.
According to Cpt. Scott Gay with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, Presley is at fault in the accident and charges are pending.
An autopsy will be performed Monday to determine Rider's exact cause of death.
