AUGUSTA, Ga.---A peeping Tom invaded a local Target. "Definitely an unfortunate event, but we took it very seriously to ensure that our guests would remain safe," said Robert Davis who is executive team leader at the store.
Have you ever noticed those little black bulbs dotting the ceiling? They're actually dozens of tiny cameras that helped capture the surveillance video.
They're manned by full time workers who were snooping on the snooper. "Their title is asset protection, but you know our number one asset is our guests. That's what we take as very important around this building."
We counted at least 100 cameras, and that's just on the inside. "I think the message is there's truly nothing to worry about when you come to Target," said Davis.
That is especially true now that Charles Tremblay has been arrested.
"We actually got the call last night after the report aired on the local media," said Lt. Scott Peebles.
That call lead investigators to Wild Wings off Washington Road. Charles Tremblay was arrested there just as he was coming in to work.
"We are happy to have him off the streets and provide him a place to stay so to speak," said Lt. Peebles.
It's a sentiment shared by the folks at Target who have a message for anyone looking to press their luck.
"If you're thinking about it...you just might as well walk on," said Davis.
Tremblay is being held on 2 counts of being a peeping Tom. He could face up to 5 years in prison.
