AUGUSTA, Ga.---14 year old Zachariah Antill is one of 270 young people out on a mission to change the world, and they are looking to do it one community at a time.

"Mostly number one for the love of Christ. We wanna serve him and do everything we can to honor and please him," said Zach.

Zach is a member of World Changers who is taking on 19 different sites in the Laney Walker neighborhood. He is painting, roofing, and completely renovating homes for those who need it most.

"It ain't every day, and stuff like that, you can find somebody to do this for you," said Robert Odom.

Odom looked on at the hundreds of young people who traded in summer fun to wake-up early and work hard at making his house a home.

"And I appreciate it. I really appreciate it," said Mr. Odom.

Believe it or not...they paid more than $200 to come and sleep on the floor. They roughed it for a good cause.

"It really brings a lot of joy to their life many times to come out and see ya'll working on their house...so it's almost worth it just to see that smile on their face," said Zach.

It's worth a lot to Mr.Odom, too. He says he could have never done the work on his own.

"If we woulda had to come out of our pocket with this money we woulda been hurting," said Mr. Odom.

It's that sad reality that Zach says keeps him coming back summer after summer.

"It just feels like you're doing the right thing, and you know that you're putting a smile on Jesus face up in heaven, and that's worth every bit of it to me," said Zach.

"That just go to show you...if the good Lord for ya...the devil can't do you no harm," said Mr. Odom.

More than 23,000 students will take on similar work in 95 communities across the country this year. Since they began in 1990, they've renovated more than 18,000 homes in some 900 communities.
