AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Spending time at a hospital doesn't always mean appointments, doctors and procedures. Sometimes it means having fun, singing and dancing to Katy Perry's music.

News 12 is proud to partner with the Children's Hospital of Georgia for another music video. This year's song is "Roar." It tells the story of children conquering their fears of hospitals, doctors and even shots.

This is the 2nd year we've worked with the hospital.

"After seeing the Seattle Children's Hospital music video with Kelly Clarkson's 'Stronger' go viral on YouTube, we thought, what a great project for us to do here in Augusta. We have an awesome Children's Hospital in our own community to showcase and News 12 has a longstanding relationship with Children's Hospital of Georgia as the official Children's Miracle Network Hospital's television partner. We shared our idea with CMN Development Coordinator Catherine Stewart, and turns out, some of the marketing folks at GRU were also thinking along the same lines. From there, we discussed ideas, songs and production dates, and the result is a great testament to the wonderful spirit of the children and team at the Children's Hospital. Putting together the video was a labor of love for those at News 12 also. It's our hope the music video further spotlights Children's Hospital of Georgia," said Estelle Parsley, VP of News & Operations at WRDW.

Planning for the video started in late 2013. News 12 Producer Chris Curry, News Promotions/Special Projects Producer Arthur Takahashi and Creative Services Producer Emily Kilefner spent two days shooting in March. The editing started soon after, but didn't wrap up until the week before the 2014 CMN Celebration Broadcast.

Please share our music video on social media to show your family and friends the miracles happening at your local children's hospital.
