AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW)- Two inmates at the Augusta Youth Development Campus were back in court to be indicted on new gang related charges.

Andre Daniels, 20, and Markuise Powell, 17, were formally charged today for gang related activity that allegedly took place at the YDC.

Authorities say Daniels and Powell, along with Dronta Turner, 19, and Quintavis Robinson, 17, hit Kenneth Johnson, another inmate, in the face and head until he was unconscious as part of a gang initiation.

In court this morning, the judge told Daniels and Powell he did not have the right to grant them bond.

The two defendants did not have lawyers at the time of the indictment. The judge told them they would be able to hire one when their bond hearing was set.

Turner and Robinson were initially charged in the incident and have since been moved to another facility. Meanwhile, Daniels and Powell are being held at the Richmond County Detention
