2 in jail accused of trafficking narcotics in SC

NEW ELLENTON, S.C. (WRDW) -- Two people are in jail accused of trafficking and selling narcotics in New Ellenton and surrounding areas.

Waydee Ameen Clifton of Weeks Road in Williston, S.C. is charged with 1-Count of Trafficking Cocaine, 1-Count of PWID Marijuana, 1-Count of Possession of a firearm by persons unlawful, 1-Count of Possession of a stolen Firearm.

Quincy Bernard Brigham of Hillwood Circle in Augusta, Ga. has been charged with 1-Count of Trafficking Cocaine.

Deputies say these arrests came from a lengthy, multi-agency narcotics investigation.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, ADPS, SLED, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the local DEA task force were all involved.

Two federal search warrants resulted in finding large quantities of United States Currency, cocaine, marijuana, a stolen firearm and numerous documents at 511 Long Street, New Ellenton, SC and 1374 Weeks Road, Williston, SC, in Aiken County.

Aiken County Sheriff Michael Hunt stated, "It doesn't matter where you live in Aiken County or surrounding jurisdictions, Law Enforcement agencies across the area will continue to work together. If people choose to associate themselves with drugs and guns illegally, Law Enforcement will pursue them and hold them accountable."

Officers say there were several other arrests and indictments in surrounding counties. The investigation is ongoing.
