2 in custody after car chase crosses state line

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- Two people are in custody after leading authorities on a chase that crossed state lines in a stolen vehicle.

Officials say the car involved was stolen from a home on Milledge Road Tuesday evening.

The chase ended between W. Five Notch Rd. and exit 1 on I-20.

Richmond County deputies began the pursuit just before 2 a.m. Wednesday on Gordon Highway. Deputies pursued the car down Gordon Highway and then into Grovetown. Somewhere in the Grovetown area, the suspects car blew a tire.

The suspects then go onto I-20 headed east at exit 190. They continued for another 12 miles before coming to a stop between W. Five Notch Rd. and Exit 1. North Augusta Public Safety was called for assistance once the chase crossed the state line. NADPS found evidence inside the suspect vehicle that will now be processed.
