WAGENER, S.C. (WRDW) -- Three men have been arrested in connection to a home invasion and assault on Monday afternoon.

The victim said he was asleep with his girlfriend inside his home on Big Branch Road when he heard a loud bang. When he went outside the room to investigate, he says he saw three men inside his home.

The victim said he knew one of the suspects, which is when he started yelling at them and went to go grab his gun.

When the victim confronted one of the suspects, he says one of them hit him in the face.

The three suspects then ran out the door, and the victim followed their truck until officers could help.

Officers tracked the car, and two of the suspects, 32-year-old Glen Smith and 19-year-old Raphael Pontoo, allegedly jumped out of the car while being pursued.

Smith was taken to a hospital in Columbia for head injuries after jumping from the truck. Pontoo and the driver, 23-year-old Steven Rutland, were taken into custody.
