The tornados and storms that recently tore through the Louisville, Wrens and Wadley areas left several families without homes. Those living in Jefferson Energy Cooperative’s service territory were able to receive financial assistance through funds donated by the Jefferson Energy Foundation. These donations of $1000.00 per family were collected through Jefferson Energy’s Operation Round Up program. The recent donations were in addition to several others from the tornado that hit Jefferson County back in March.
Manager of Marketing William Irwin says, “I’m thankful we have a program in place to provide additional help in situations where a member of Jefferson Energy Cooperative loses their home as a result of a storm or fire. Our customers are to be commended for their participation in the Operation Round Up program. And, our Foundation Board has graciously distributed the funds in the manner they were intended…to help those in need.”
