GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW) -- A Grovetown man has been arrested on first-degree cruelty to children charges.
It all started on the night of Jan. 29 when the complainant said she saw her brother walking down East Robinson Avenue. The victim said he had been hit in the face by their brother-in-law, 32-year-old Thomas Jay Adams.
The victim says he was waking up Adams for work but woke him up a little bit late, which is when he says Adam hit him on the right side of the face with a closed fist. The victim left the house after the incident, which is when the complainant saw him along the roadway.
Investigators were given access to an audio recording on a cellphone from someone who said the abuse was an everyday occurrence. According to the incident report, the audio recording sounded like a child was being hit and you could hear a female asking the man to stop.
Adams' bond has been set for $50,200.
