Every year -- Columbia County has to put down nearly two-thousand animals...but that could soon change, thanks to a new low-cost spay and neuter clinic. Construction is underway -- and soon, that clinic will be just one part of a nearly 14-acre park called Dogwood Park.
It'll also have walking trails...a no-kill shelter...and a dog park.
The idea is that if spaying and neutering is affordable... animal control will have to put down fewer animals. It's something that will save you money....since tax-payers are the ones funding that service.
Donations to the Columbia County Humane Society are paying for one-hundred percent of this project.
