AIKEN, S.C. --- Four Aiken County Schools get a state award and they are surprised by the Superintendent on Monday Morning.

JD Lever Elementary School, Jefferson Elementary, A.L. Corbett and Silver Bluff High School all were named South Carolina Red Carpet Schools. Superintendent Dr. Beth Everitt went to each school on Monday with balloons to surprise them on their accomplishments.

The award goes to a school that has lots of programs for families and visitors, is inviting, clean, lots of welcome signs and more.

The award is given out to school from the South Carolina Department of Education.
