Evans, GA--

Two robbers held up an Evans restaurant Thursday evening about 8:20 pm.

One held a gun on customers, telling them "Don't move."

The other gunman took about $800 from the register. They then ran out into the parking lot toward the Pheasant Run subdivision.

It happened at the Grand China Buffet at 4368 Washington Road. No one was injured in the robbery.

Deputies also say a robber may have used a special manager's "master key" to open a cash register in the Walgreen's store at 3900 Washington Road sometime Thursday evening.

The register in the cosmetics department was unattended at the time. Video surveillance shows the suspect used something to open the register and take bills from the drawer. The suspect also asked another clerk for directions to the nearest Home Depot before he left the store.

The theft was not discovered for about another 30 minutes. Workers told deputies the robbery was consistent with other thefts at a Walgreen's location in Columbia, SC.

Anyone with information on these crimes should contact the Columbia County Sheriff's Office at 706 541-2800.
