Augusta, GA--

The city of Augusta has lost thousands of dollars in equipment to a thief or thieves.

A break-in happened at a Recreation Department building at Diamond Lakes Regional Park on the far south side.

Deputies say the fence around the building was knocked over, and the door to the equipment area was pried open.

The alarm did not go off.

Up to $23,000 worth of lawn equipment was taken.

As of Thursday morning, Sheriff's Lt. Tony Walden said they don't have any suspects.
