Murder Suspect In Court:

A man facing murder charges, of a woman missing since 2006, will have a second shot at bond today. A judge has scheduled a bond hearing for Derek Maner, at noon today, at the Beaufort County Courthouse. Officers accuse Maner of murdering Ericka Bradley in Allendale. Maner got out of jail on a 15 thousand dollar bond last month, but officers re-arrested him one day later for violating a conditon of his release. Stay tuned to News 12 for more updates.

Car Crashes Into Hospital:

University Hospital has a big hole in the side of the building, after a late night car chase. Richmond County investigators tell News 12, a deputy saw a buick leaving the C.V.S. on Walton Way erratically, and tried to pull the car over to investigate. That's when the driver sped-off, leading the deputy on a short chase down 15th Street. The driver lost control, and eventually crashed into the hospital. Investigators believe the driver fled after shoplifting. They also believe the driver was under the influence of cocaine.

FEMA Deadline Approaching:

Just two months ago, tornadoes hit our area, and the deadline for federal assistance in recovering from those storms is almost here.
That deadline is the 19th, which is only six days away. Help is available after Governor Sonny Perdue declared a state of emergency for several Georgia counties. FEMA has a website about how to get assistance for you and your family. You can find that like, by logging onto our website at wrdw.com. From there, click on the 'Find It' button.

Sure must be a slow newsday to report on escalator safety. Sometimes you have to go out and find the stories instead of them coming to you.
