AUGUSTA, GA---Mother's Day is getting off to a stormy start in the Augusta area.

Tornado Warnings have been issued for several areas of the News 12 viewing area. A Tornado Watch is in effect for the entire News 12 viewing area until 10am.

There is damage reported in Jefferson County. Trees are down and about 1600 customers are without power. There are also reports that the hospital in Jefferson County is without power. At last check, phones at Jefferson County Sheriff's Office were not being answered.
